A television remote control and popcorn

As the nights begin to draw in, we all tend to spend more time curled up in front of the TV. Luckily, there are some great TV shows to brighten up those long, dark evenings. As we provide TVs to customers across the UK, we thought we would compile a list of the shows that we’re most excited about this autumn. Some of them may require a subscription, but others are available on free channels and there is something for everyone to enjoy!

The Perfect Couple, Netflix

Nicole Kidman and Liev Schreiber lead this juicy mystery drama about a seemingly perfect family preparing for a wedding when a body washes up on their doorstep. If you loved Big Little Lies, this is a must-watch – with all the tension, intrigue, and family drama you could ask for. We have all been gripped by this one – and have struggled to not share the guilty party with those that haven’t got that far! Watch it.

Amandaland, BBC One

For fans of the hilarious series Motherland, you’ll be delighted to hear that Lucy Punch’s fan-favourite character Amanda is back! In Amandaland, Amanda is navigating life in a rougher part of town with teenage children, and her mum, played by the iconic Joanna Lumley. If you loved the sharp humour of Motherland as much as our office staff did, this spin-off is sure to deliver.

Colin From Accounts, BBC Two

This Aussie comedy is back for a second series, with stars like Kevin Bacon jumping on board. The quirky story of a man, a woman, and a dog (Colin, of course) continues with Gordon and Ashley attempting to get their beloved pet back, leading to some hilarious and awkward moments. It’s a feel-good series perfect for cosy nights in.

After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun, Disney+

Transport yourself back to the 90s with this nostalgic documentary about the iconic series Baywatch. Whether you were a fan of the slow-motion beach runs or the soapy drama, this documentary, featuring interviews with stars like David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, will surely lift your spirits during those rainy evenings.

A Very Royal Scandal, Prime Video

In the wake of Netflix’s Scoop, A Very Royal Scandal dives deeper into the infamous interview between Prince Andrew and Emily Maitlis. With Ruth Wilson as the poised journalist and Michael Sheen taking on the role of the disgraced prince, this drama has all the ingredients for gripping TV. What sets it apart? The endorsement of Maitlis herself.

Dress the Nation, ITV

Think The Apprentice meets high fashion. This exciting competition show, hosted by AJ Odudu and Vernon Kay, pits aspiring designers against each other as they vie for the ultimate prize – a junior designer role at M&S. It’s high stakes, high drama, and full of fabulous fashion. Sounds good!

Apples Never Fall, BBC

Based on Liane Moriarty’s bestselling novel, this gripping drama stars Annette Bening and Sam Neill as a couple whose picture-perfect lives are thrown into chaos when one of them goes missing. This slick, suspenseful series received rave reviews in the US and is now hitting UK screens – perfect for fans of dark, character-driven dramas.

My Mum, Your Dad, ITV

If you’re after some reality TV, My Mum, Your Dad offers a heart-warming twist on dating shows. Middle-aged single parents head to a retreat for a second shot at love, with their adult children secretly watching their every move. With Davina McCall hosting, it promises to make you laugh and cry.

Strictly Come Dancing, BBC One

Despite the controversies swirling around it, Strictly returns this year with a star-studded line-up and plenty of glitter and glam. Notably, Chris McCausland, the show’s first blind contestant, is set to inspire audiences. What are these gloomy months without the dazzling performances that Strictly delivers?

In Vogue: The 90s, Disney+

Step into the glamorous world of 90s fashion with this star-studded documentary. Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Sarah Jessica Parker, and more reflect on the decade that shaped modern fashion, all while Vogue editor Anna Wintour presides over it all with her signature style. For those that love fashion, this documentary is a must-see.

The Penguin, Sky Atlantic

Colin Farrell reprises his scene-stealing role as The Penguin from The Batman in this new spin-off series. With plenty of crime, drama, and Farrell’s larger-than-life performance, this promises to be a fun, gritty addition to your autumn TV schedule. It does require Sky subscription, but it does star Colin Farrell and he has a lot of fans at our head office...
