Geraldine Jagdeo, Forbes Rentals Account Manager

At Forbes Rentals, we pride ourselves on being a family business—not just in our heritage, which spans nearly a century, but also in the workplace that we cultivate. It’s this sense of community and shared values that has led so many of our team members to stay with us for decades, often bringing their own family members on board. This month, we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on one of our much valued, long standing team members, Geraldine Jagdeo, who has been a vital part of Forbes Rentals for 30 years.

A Family Tradition at Forbes

As Accounts Manager, Geraldine is a cornerstone of the business, known for her professionalism, warm personality, and approachable nature. Over her two decades with Forbes, Geraldine has built strong relationships with customers and colleagues alike, always going the extra mile to ensure everything runs smoothly.  She has also adeptly managed our social events for many years; from organising dinner dances, race days, boat parties, and theatre evenings to outings to local pubs and restaurants, Geraldine is always quick to rally staff for some fun.

For Geraldine, Forbes is more than just a workplace—it’s a family affair. Both of her sons have worked with us over the years, and her son Jamie now serves as our Sales Supervisor, continuing the family tradition. Her sister Lisa also worked at Forbes for 20 years. These connections are a reflection of Forbes’ own legacy as a family business that values loyalty, trust, and community.

“Working at Forbes has been a truly rewarding experience,” says Geraldine. “It’s not just a job; the company is like an extended family, with people who care deeply about what they do.”

Why Choose Rental? Geraldine’s Insight

With her years of experience, Geraldine is a passionate advocate for the many benefits of renting appliances and equipment through Forbes Rentals. She regularly highlights how renting offers both our consumer and commercial customers a practical and sustainable alternative to purchasing.

“Why invest in a depreciating asset when you can rent and spread the cost over time?” Geraldine asks. “Renting means no big upfront payments, and it’s all-inclusive; support, repairs, and upgrades are covered. Plus, when you upgrade, the old appliance goes to a new home, so you’re not generating waste. It’s a win for you and a win for the environment.”

As a company, Forbes is proud to support the circular economy. Appliances that are no longer needed by one customer are refurbished and leased to another, extending their lifecycle and reducing waste. It’s an approach that aligns with our long-standing commitment to sustainability.

Celebrating 100 Years of Forbes Rentals

As we approach our 100th year in business, we’re reminded of how much of our success has been shaped by the dedication of employees like Geraldine. Her contributions over the past 30 years have been invaluable, and her family’s involvement in the company speaks to the close-knit culture we’ve fostered.

Thank You, Geraldine!
