We are all becoming increasingly aware of our individual and corporate responsibilities when it come to sustainability. As highlighted once again by COP26, taking action to alleviate the climate crisis has never been more pressing. At Forbes, sustainability is deeply enshrined in our values and policies. We take our environmental responsibilities seriously, and are proud that the regeneration of products is at the core of our business. We believe that sustainability is synonomous with a sense of responsibility towards people and the environment, and is an integral part of quality awareness.

Rental, or leasing, is becoming increasingly popular as it is a more sustainable lifestyle choice than outright purchase. People are less concerned with ownership and choose to support a circular economy, leasing everything from mobile phones to home appliances to cars. Marks and Spencers recently announced that they are making clothes available to hire due to rising concerns over fast fashion. We live in a society that is used to having access to the latest technology and the current trends and leasing can give access to that without supporting a throw away mindset. We are finding that in recent years sustainability is definitely a key driver for both our commercial clients and our consumer customer base.

As a business, Forbes is fully committed to:

  • Using our rescources efficiently and minimising waste.
  • Selecting our products based on their durability and projected longevity.
  • Refurbishing and redistributing our products-Where possible old stock is regenerated and either sold to trade or put back into our stock flow.
  • Ensuring that any products that are not suitable for regeneration are disposed of responsibly.
  • Recycling plastics, metals, glass, paper and cardboard.
  • Promoting the use of recycled products.
  • Choosing our business partners carefully, to ensure that our laundry equipment offers optimum energy and water efficiency and minimises chemical usage.
  • Offering the latest, most energy efficient LED technology.
  • Introducing hybrid cars to our fleet of vehicles where possible.
  • Encouraging employees to be aware of their own environmental responsibilities within the work place.

Forbes has a comprehensive Sustainability Policy and is proud to support environmentally responsible lifestyle and corporate choices.
