Autumn is just around the corner, and as the nights start to close in and the summer holidays have drawn to an end we all tend to spend a bit more time relaxing in front of the television. We thought we would share our head office’s current Top TV Choices for a bit of inspiration as it can take a while to navigate the plethora of content available!

Here are some of our TV recommendations for you this season:

• Poker Face

  This American crime drama follows the protagonist Charlie as she hits the road with her Plymouth Barracuda and her extraordinary ability to discern whether people are telling the truth. Watch as she encounters a host of characters and strange crimes that she can’t help but investigate…

• Spiderman-Across the Spider-Verse Amazon

  Miles Morales embarks on a thrilling adventure through the multiverse, joining forces with Gwen Stacy and other Spider-People to fight a supervillain. Even if you don’t think this is your genre, we would recommend you give it a try!

• Strictly Come Dancing
  BBC 1

  After a spectacular launch this weekend, we are all eagerly awaiting for Strictly to go live on Saturday 23rd September. It is always a brilliant show, amazing costumes and good, lighthearted entertainment.

• World on Fire
  BBC One

  A sweeping historical drama that follows the intertwined lives of civilians in World War II. The characters are all from different backgrounds and the action tracks across Manchester, North Africa, occupied France , Poland and Nazi Germany where everyone is united in their struggle to survive.

• The Last of Us

  A post-apocalyptic drama where a  pandemic caused by a mass fungal infection causes its hosts to transform into zombie-like creatures and collapses society.  Gripping escapism.

• The Ark
  SKY

  A futuristic series set one hundred years in the future where the earth is destroyed by pollution and war.  Selected people are chosen to start a new life, departing in several spaceships to a new home far away.  Plenty of drama with this one.

• Avatar: The Way of Water
  Disney +/ Amazon

  This epic sci-fi film follows a blue-skinned humanoid as he and his family seek refuge with the aquatic clan of Pedora upon the habitable exomoon on which they live. Seeking a new threat from humans, this family do all they can to stay safe and remain together.

• Loot
  Amazon

  After divorcing her husband of nearly 20 years, molly Novak must figure out what to do with her $87 billion settlement. A good, easy watch for those that want to just switch off after a busy summer’s day.

• Slow Horses
  Apple TV+

  This quick-witted spy drama follows a dysfunctional team of M15 agents (and their pretty obnoxious boss) as they navigate the espionage world’s smoke and mirrors and endeavour to protect England from sinister forces...

• My Mum, your Dad
  ITVX

  Davina McCall’s brand new show has been described as cross between Love Island and Parent Trap. Set in a Sussex country mansion it follows a group of ‘mid-lifers’ who have been nominated by their grown-up children to take part in this match making show. A lot of the Forbes staff watched the first episode this week and it certainly got us talking...
