The proposed installation space: A key factor to consider is the ambient room temperature. Whilst many people think that installing a tumble dryer in their garage would save space, we would advise against that. Both heat pump and condenser dryers need to be installed in an ambient temperature of 5°-35°C in order to work to their best potential.
The power socket: Heat pump dryers, like other home appliances such as washing machines and fridges, should be plugged directly int a 240 volt socket to minimise the risk of over-heating. For safety reasons, we would not install a heat pump if it required an extension lead to reach the socket.
Ventilation: Whilst heat pump dryers do not require a vent, there are some ventilation considerations In order to work safely and efficiently, it is essential that there is no obstruction in front of the air inlet at the front of the appliance, and there needs to be a 3-5cm clearance around the side and back of the machine to ensure adequate ventilation.
