Forbes’ teams share their favourite TV picks for 2022

As the evenings start to draw in, we can all look forward to grabbing a blanket (cheaper than heating the house!) and cosying up in front of the TV. We thought we would speak to some of our staff about what they are watching and share with you the TV shows that are most popular amongst our teams. As you will see, many of our staff have been with us a great number of years and we often find that their friends and family members come to join our family business. It all contributes to the strong ethos that permeates our company structure at all levels.

Here are some of our TV recommendations for you this season:

  • Netflix – Ozark

    Ozark is a truly brilliant drama series starring Jason Bateman as financial advisor Marty Byrde. Marty and his wife are forced to relocate their family after a money laundering scheme goes horribly out of control. Facing dire circumstances, their lives are turned completely upside down and Marty must now do anything to keep his family alive...

  • Netflix – Stranger Things

    Set in 1980s Indiana, this American sci-fi horror fiction drama is about a group of young friends who witness terrifying supernatural forces, secret experiments and extraordinary government exploits. In their search for answers, the children unravel a series of extraordinary mysteries. Starring Winona Ryder, Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour, the fourth series of this epic series reaches the brilliant heights that fans anticipate...

  • iPlayer – The Secrets She Keeps, Series 2

    This is the second series of an Australian psychological thriller drama television series. It is centres around the story of two women who meet in a chance encounter in Sydney. They are both pregnant at the time, but they have a lot more in common than that. They both carry explosive secrets from their past that could destroy everything that they hold dear...

    Geraldine Jagdeo, Accounts Manager, has worked at Forbes for 30 years and says: “There are so many twists and turns in The Secrets She Keeps. I would really recommend it. You think you have worked something out and then in the next episode everything changes.”

  • Amazon Prime – House of the Dragon

    This American fantasy is a prequel to the Game of Thrones, set c, 200 years previously and loosely based on George Martin’s novel Fire and Blood. After the death of their father, two siblings are left fighting for the throne. There is an ensuing civil war called the Dance of Dragons. Think blood, carnage, battles, dragons...

    Jamie Jagdeo, Sales Executive and son to our Account Manager, has worked at Forbes for 11 years and says. “The ending of Game of Thrones left us wanting more. Ultimately, the House of the Dragon has certainly filled that void. Don’t miss it.”

  • Amazon Prime – The Rings of Power

    The Rings of Power is the prequel to The Lord of the Rings, set thousands of years before that and the Hobbit. This epic drama begins in a time of relative peace but then takes viewers to a time when kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruins with Tolkien’s greatest villain threatening to envelope the entire world in darkness...

  • Netflix – Kleo

  • Netflix – The Watcher

    Suzy Worthington, Stock Supervisor and Accounts Assistant has worked for Forbes for 34 years and says, “I like anything that is based on a true story like this! It was really gripping, edge of your seat viewing and quite quirky. I loved all of the characters and it is hard to believe that it is based on true events. Definitely worth a watch.”

  • Amazon Prime – Parks and Recreations

    Parks and Recreations is an American Political satire mockumentary sitcom TV series. It follows a mid-level bureaucrat as she is faced with a myriad of challenges in her endeavours to boost her town by helping a local nurse convert an abandoned construction site into a community park...

    Kevin Herring, CEO, has worked at Forbes for 32 years and says. “I highly recommend this series for a spot of light-hearted entertainment. It really is very funny and has an excellent cast.”

  • Netflix – Death by Magic

    Death by Magic stars British magician, Drummond Money-Coutts as he travels around the world performing a series of potentially deadly tricks. Amongst the tricks that he undertakes are endeavouring to escape from a flooding car and attempting to escape from a custom-built coffin. Fairly short viewing times and so easily squeezed in around busy schedules...
