A man holding up his hands in frustration

Our carefully selected Bosch appliances are renowned for their innovation, efficiency, and reliability. However, like any sophisticated technology, they can encounter issues that may leave users scratching their heads. Whether you're facing a flashing light on your tumble dryer or an error code on your washing machine or dishwasher, Forbes’ team is only ever a phone call away but often interpreting these codes is the first step towards getting back to smooth operation. Whilst our field engineers can be dispatched the same/ next day, sometimes it is as simple quick fix that customers can handle themselves.

Bosch washing machines:

  • E04/E09 Error Codes:

These error codes commonly indicate issues related to drainage or water supply. Contact Forbes’ dedicated customer service team for expert assistance. They will start by inspecting the drain hose for any clogs or kinks, and will ensure that the water supply valves are fully open.

  • E20 Error Code:

These Bosch error codes indicate there is unexpected heating in your washing machine. To troubleshoot this issue, reset the washer by turning it off, then on. If the error isn't fixed by this reset, please contact our customer service team.

  • E16 / F16 Error Code:

These error codes indicate that the door is open. Please close the door properly and proceed as usual.

  • E28 / F28 Error Codes:

These error codes indicate there is an issue with the flow sensor. Please contact our team of experts for assistance.

  • E56 Error Code:

This error code indicates that there is an unexpected communication error in your washing machine. To troubleshoot this issue, reset the washer by turning it off, then on. If this reset doesn’t resolve the issue, please contact our customer service team.

  • E18:

The drain pump is blocked by debris. Please clean the drain pump using user manual. Drain hose may be kinked. Contact our multi-award winning customer service team.

  • E32 Error Code:

Flashes with END on display. This is not a fault. Unbalanced load detection system has interrupted the spin cycle because laundry is unevenly distributed. Distribute small and large items evenly in the drum. Then spin the laundry again if necessary. Ensure the correct cycle is used for the load size e.g. full drum cotton wash, quarter drum mixed load, less than 3kg quick wash. Anything like bath mats, bath robes or large towels can cause an unbalanced load.

  • E93 Error Code or tap symbol displayed/flashing:

Water pressure is too low or no water is available. Check your water supply and turn taps fully. If this is not resolved please call us.

  • Symbol of a basket with foam spilling over:

Too much foam has been detected. The rinse cycle has been activated by the machine to clear excess foaming. Please use less detergent in the future washes or follow detergent company packaging for guidance.

  • Ready in Time flashes:

Ensure ready in time was not selected. Change it to “0”. Alternative reasons for this would include that the mains voltage is too low. Contact our team if this persists.

Bosch dryers:

  • E90 Error Code:

Please contact our customer care team for service options.

  • F34 Error Code:

If your Bosch dryer displays this error code, it's likely related to a problem with the lint filter or the exhaust vent. Clean the lint filter thoroughly and inspect the exhaust vent for any obstructions. If the error persists, our customer service team will provide further guidance and support.

  • Vented dryer keeps stopping too soon.

Clean the fluff filter each time before using dryer and ensure that the vent hose is not crushed at the back. Vacuum lint from drum when dryer is not in use or when vacuuming your house. Call our customer service team if this persists.

  • Condenser/heat pump dryer not drying efficiently:

Clean the fluff filter before each cycle and vacuum out any excess lint from drum when vacuuming house. Consider reducing the load. The larger the load much longer it will take. Call our team of laundry experts if the situation does not resolve.

Our Customer Service Manager Alkas Miah has some laundry top tips for customers:

  • Drying tips:

‘When it comes to drying your clothes efficiently, remember not to overload the machines. The wet wash load will need space in the drum in order to circulate air and remove moisture from clothes.

Emptying the condenser drawer after each dry is crucial, and the same goes for removing lint. Like many modern dryers, Bosch dryers are equipped with a moisture sensor. After long periods of usage that sensor may become covered by fine layer of limescale or a residue of detergents and care products. Open the door and clean the area below filter using a dry/soft cloth. Do not use anything abrasive in the sensor area’

  • Washing tips:

‘Be careful to ensure that you do not overload your machine and follow instructions carefully- too much or too little detergent can negatively impact washing results. Leave the washing machine door ajar in-between washes and wipe down the seal to prevent any build-up of mould.’
